The Power of Christ in Us

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

The power in us comes from the Spirit and love takes away fear giving us a sound mind. The power of Christ enables us to control our thoughts and emotions giving us divine power. The more our thoughts are set on things above, on serving Christ, the more power and strength the Lord gives us.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21) The Lord’s power is at work within us when we live for Christ by bringing his truth to the world. He gives us his power to do his will and for his glory. All through history and even today people are living in the power of Christ to their last breath.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)  Our hearts are filled with peace and joy as we trust the Lord, knowing he is with us and Heaven is our home. We know the power and strength of the Holy Spirit will keep us on the narrow road to eternal life.

Living in the power of Christ depends on recognizing the infinite power and love of God. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. (2 Samuel 22:33) If we truly recognize God for who he really is, beyond our imagination in every way, knowing all things are possible for him, then we can have the courage to live in his power.

The closer relationship we have with the Lord; our love for Christ becomes stronger, and we will be amazed the power the Lord will work through us. If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters–yes, even their own life–such a person cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26) If we live this verse in our hearts, loving God more than anyone or anything, then love will give is the power to overcome the world and to love others more.

Today live with the power of Christ in you, and overcome any temptation.  The more of God’s love that is in your heart the more power you show with love and compassion.   Today walk in victory with the power of the Lord..

Prayer:  Thank you for the power you can work through me, and let your power over Satan’s temptations. Guide me in the Spirit to live for Christ putting you first in all things.  In Jesus name, Amen
