The Lord is Always with You

….and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 28:20

Just before he ascended into Heaven, Jesus told his apostles that he would be with them to very end of the age. The Lord will also be with us to the end of the age. The Holy Spirit lives in the believer and the Father and the Son make their home with us. Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” (John 14:23)

If we train ourselves to be aware that the Father and the Son are with us and the Holy Spirit lives in us, we can experience the comfort and confidence from God. This awareness will help us to be closer to the Lord, commune with the Lord, and overcome Satan’s temptations. It’s amazing the power we have when we know the Father and the Son are with us.

The Spirit speaks only what he hears which means Christ speaks to us through the Spirit. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13) Christ is with us and we can talk to him through our thoughts or by speaking aloud; we can hear him through our thoughts from the Spirit or through his Word. The more we realize Christ is with us and the more we commune with the Lord, the more we can hear the Spirit in our thoughts. Have faith and a great desire to hear the Lord.

The more we are in the Word and the more we minister to others, the more we will hear the Lord. The Word is the language of God and the better we know the language the more we hear and understand it. I have found I hear the Lord best when I call on him for guidance while teaching a class, ministering to someone, or preaching the Word.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (1 John 1:5) Being still, and yet praising and thanking God inside our hearts, primes us to hear the Spirit. The more we hear the Lord, the more we desire to be connected to the Lord throughout our day.

Today know the Lord is with you and stay connected to him through your thoughts, and depend on him for divine guidance. The Lord is always with you to help you through each day and to minister to everyone with kindness and love. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:4)

Prayer: Lord, help me to always be aware of your presence with me and help me to depend on you every day. Help me to hear you speak through the Spirit, and it is divine blessing to hear your words. In Jesus’ name, Amen
