The Greatest Job in the World

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

God created us to do good works and he molds us to conform to these works. As our hearts change to the heart of Jesus, the work He created us for us becomes the desire of our hearts.  We serve the Lord by following the Spirit, and our hearts get filled with God’s love which increases our motivation to bring Christ to others.

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4) A heart filled with God’s love, Christ becoming the center our life, and serving Christ are the main reasons we live. The Word, prayer, and fellowship become the foundation of serving the Lord.  Now the greatest job becomes the reason we live because we are motivated by our new Godly heart.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16) Love makes us one with the Lord and with the mind and heart of Jesus, we naturally live as Jesus lived.  The more like Jesus we become, the more natural it is to serve the Lord, being a light in this dark world.

With any job the pay is always important, and serving the Lord, the pay is divine and eternal. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.  (2 Corinthians 9:8) The blessings from God constantly feed our souls and exceeds any blessings that can be received from the world. The blessings are fed through the Spirit and fill our souls with divine love, peace, and joy that never goes away.  We walk with guidance from Christ and He gives us His wisdom, confidence, and comfort. Blessings from God are far more fulfilling than any worldly blessings.

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:12) The apostle Paul experienced the blessings of God and the blessings were so powerful, it kept him content in all circumstances. The Lord will bless us and keep us content in all circumstances.  When life gets difficult, the blessings will get stronger in our soul.

Today, live doing the best job in the world — serving our Lord, the Creator of all things. Experience the divine blessings that only come from God and last forever in our souls. These blessings get stronger, the closer we are to the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, help me to follow the Spirit more every day. I depend on You to guide me through each day and to be with me when I minister to others.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
