The God of all Comfort
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
No one can provide us comfort that compares to the comfort God feeds into our soul. When God feeds our soul with comfort it brings peace and relaxation. If we comfort others in their time of trouble, our comfort from God is stronger. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29) God’s comfort includes rest for our souls, which means we relax and become closer to the Lord. The closer we are to the Lord the more peace and joy we experience.
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. (Psalm 119:76) Knowing the love the Lord has for us is the foundation of the comfort he gives us. Whatever we go through in life we can be comforted by the fact that the Lord goes through it with us. We are never alone because the Father and the Son are always with us, giving us divine strength, wisdom, guidance., and we can always be comforted knowing our home is Heaven.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4) Even in our darkest valley of life, we fear no evil, because the Lord is with us, and he gives us divine comfort. He takes away our fear so we can be comforted. The closer we are to the Lord the more comfort we can experience. It’s impossible to be close to the Lord and not be comforted, because he will guide us through life and give us the strength to endure.
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) The Lord loves and cares for us and he will take our anxiety and turn it into comfort and peace. The Lord has the power the fill our soul with love, peace, and comfort; and all the blessings from Heaven. When our soul is content, our flesh is content, and only God can bring lasting comfort to our soul.
Today live for Christ, and ask the Lord for love, peace, and comfort, so you can go through the day relaxed and with patience. Always know Heaven is your home, and live for eternity.
