The Difficult Spiritual Battle
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33
This verse tells us that if we put Christ first in our life, then He will make it easy for us to provide our worldly needs. The spiritual battle we all face is putting Christ first in our life, verses putting ourselves first, while most of us divide the priority.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The apostle Paul wrote this verse saying his life was totally guided by Christ. When our hearts are filled with God’s love we are changed, and our desire is to always do what Christ desires. Since we are not perfect there will be times when our will and God’s will can be different.
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Romans 8:14) If we follow the Spirit we will be pleasing to the Lord, however it’s good to pray for every decision, no matter how small. If we plan to do something, it’s good to pray ask the Christ; and if its not agreeable to Christ, we will have an uneasy feeling if we are still inside, otherwise we may never hear or feel the Spirit.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26) It takes faith to always do what the Father desires; putting Christ first in our lives and doing the things of God as our priority. Wherever we go we take Christ with us as we minister to all people with the fruit of the Spirit. We are ambassadors for Christ and we represent Christ to everyone.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) A heart filled God’s love is what connects to God, because God is love. A mind filled with God’s love is good, but we live out of our hearts. We are predestined to conform to the image of his Son, and love motivated Jesus and love in our hearts motivates us.
Today fight the spiritual battle and know with hearts filled with love the battle disappears. Seek to do whatever the Lord places in your heart today.
Prayer: Lord guide me in the Spirit to do your will, because your guidance is always perfect and makes me more like Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen
