The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Posted on

You shall not fear them, for it is the LORD your God who fights for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22

We are in a worldwide spiritual war, and our enemy is Satan and his demons. We fight with love and with the power of God, and we are obedient in serving Christ. All through the Bible we see that God gave the Israelites victory; freedom from bondage to Egypt, destroyed the Egyptian army in the Red Sea, water from a rock, manna from the sky; and gave David victory in all his battles. When we depend on God to fight our battles, and we walk in obedient faith, we will live in victory because God is always faithful, and He never fails.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) We always trust the Lord, but we need patience because: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8) God’s ways are not our ways, and most likely we do not know God’s ways, and we may let our faith slip. Patience is needed when the Lord fights our battles, because he my change us before he completes the battle, and that usually takes time.

The Lord fights Satan for us when are bringing Christ to lost souls. He gives us scriptures, words, patients, love, and caring heart; all needed when ministering to others. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) We depend on the Lord for everything, to fight our battles, enable us to minister to others, and to change us to be more like Christ, and to overcome any sinful habits. If we truly have faith, we will depend on the Lord for everything.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23) If we do everything as doing for the Lord, the Lord will always be with us. And it’s our spiritual nature to depend on the Lord for everything, because in everything we think and do we reflect Christ.

Today let the Lord fight your battles; in traffic, in ministry, calming our thoughts and emotions, overcoming physical problems, and calming our fears.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always depend on You in everything I do. And help me to trust You in the battles I may encounter, conflicts, or difficulties. In Jesus name, Amen
