Surrender All and Be Free

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

If we could perfectly surrender to the Lord, we would be perfectly free – having overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) I personally like this verse and strive to overcome the world more each day, not controlled by the world but free in Christ.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) Once our mind is sufficiently renewed to the mind of Christ, then we know and understand God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8) We trust the Lord because we know the Lord is good, and we let him guide us through life via the Holy Spirit. We interface to the world with a free heart; making Godly decisions, and overcoming trials and tribulations through his love, power and divine guidance.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36) There is no freedom on the earth greater than the freedom we receive from Christ. We have overcome the world by living in Christ knowing we can endure anything Satan puts in our path because we walk in the love, power, and wisdom of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) We have the power of God to overcome anything, because all things are possible for God.

Today, recognize you have the power of God — his love, his strength, his wisdom, and his courage — all driven by your faith in him. The more we trust the Lord, the more we live in him and the more we are victorious in Christ. You have overcome the world and Heaven is your home.

Prayer: Lord, help my trust to continually grow stronger as I seek freedom in Christ. I pray that I surrender to the Spirit, and not yield any control directly from the world. In Jesus name, Amen
