Spiritually Alive

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:17

We are connected to the Lord through the indwelling Holy Spirit, and Christ guides us through life by placing thoughts in our minds, and changing the desires of our hearts. The more we know the Word of God, which is the language of God, the more we can follow Christ.

But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10) With the Holy Spirit we are spiritually alive, and we see our body dead to sin. We are no longer ruled by our sinful flesh, but we are now ruled by the divine, love, knowledge, and power of Christ through the Spirit.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13) Christ guides us in in all truth, and he guides us into the future. We are blessed to be guided by Christ through the Holy Spirit, because he knows us better than we know ourselves, and knows what we face each day.

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) Anyone without the Spirit doesn’t belong to Christ, they are not in the family of God, and not guided by Christ, they are spiritually dead.

Only God can make us spiritually alive when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we are baptized and receive the Holy Spirit. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) With the indwelling Holy Spirit we have divine power, and that power changes us to be like Jesus and to understand the Word of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:11)

Today know you are alive in Christ through the Spirit of God that lives in the those who accept Christ. And today reveal the love, power, and wisdom of God.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to always know that I am alive in Christ, which gives my life divine meaning. In Jesus name, Amen
