Slow Down and Keep Life Simple
He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10
The Lord wants us live life to the full, a life without fear, worry, or rushing. He wants us to be still inside and to trust him with a heart filled with love, peace, and joy. Imagine life with perfect patience, perfect faith, and no worries. Knowing without a doubt that your life was in God’s divine hands and he loves you more than you can imagine. This is the kind of faith the Lord desires for us because he knows he can take care of us in any situation.
We can keep life simple and relaxed if we walk with Godly wisdom and love, and if we learn to be still inside. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30) The Lord desires that we live with rest for our souls, meaning we can be relaxed and peaceful inside while the world around is in going crazy.
Meditation is a great way to escape the world and move into the Spirit with our Lord by experiencing love, peace, and joy at a higher level. The more we learn to be alone with the Lord, the more we will desire to meditate. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) Meditate once per day and it will do wonders for finding peace inside. Being close to the Lord in meditation can stay with you all day because the Lord’s presence is extremely powerful. The experience can remain resident in our soul.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 John 2:7) Whenever life causes anxiety, slow down inside and give your anxiety to the Lord and pray for peace. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) Trade any anxiety for peace; it’s a firm promise from the Lord.
Today make an effort to slow down and make life simple by trusting the Lord and his guidance. Let your soul be at rest in this fast paced world. Choose to live today with love, peace, and joy, and do not conform to the pace of the world.
Prayer: Lord, help me to slow down and make life simple by trusting your divine guidance. Let the Spirit fill me with peace as my life gets busy. Help me to remain still inside, communing with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen
