Serve through God’s Power
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Ephesians 3:20
The Lord calls us to do things that are sometimes above our own capability, and this may stop us from fulfilling his will through us. A few years ago, I went to a conference where people had done amazing things in service to the Lord. There I learned that if the Lord calls me to do something that is beyond my capability, realize that it is possible through God’s power. There is virtually no limit as what we can do for the Lord through his power that works in us.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) Seek the Lord’s guidance and eagerly accept whatever he puts on your heart. Pray and he will guide you, step by step, to achieve success through his power. It takes prayer, work, and usually other Christians for help, but the challenge is exciting, fulfilling, and rewarding. It is amazing what we can do with the power we have as believers when we depend on the Lord for his strength and guidance.
King David depended on the Lord and prayed for guidance in every battle and the Lord gave him victory. When David fought Goliath as young boy with a rock in his sling, he depended on God and it was the power of God against Goliath. Moses led the Israelites across the desert with God’s power. Through God’s power, Moses was able to part the Red Sea, summon water from a rock, and rain food from the sky. The Lord will perform miracles in our lives if we trust him and live in his power. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6) If we stop leaning on our own understanding, stop relying on our own capabilities, trust the Lord and give him our best, he will make our paths straight.
Today know you have the power of God working through you, and call on that power in prayer when needed. Be motivated and dream of great things you can do for the Lord that are beyond your capability, but know all things are possible for God. Whatever challenges you face today, call on the Lord’s wisdom and power.
Prayer: Lord, help me with the authority you have given to believers, to live in your power and your strength all in service for you. Don’t let Satan put fear and doubt in my heart trying to keep me from serving you. Give me the faith to have no limit on what you may call me to do. In Jesus name, Amen
