See Life Through the Eyes of God

Posted on

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.

Psalm 119:18

Seeing through the eyes of God is impossible in our own strength, but it is possible through the Lord’s power in us. If we strive to see the world through the eyes of God and pray for the Lord’s divine help, then it will happen. The more we understand Jesus and how he interacted with people, the more we will understand how to see through his eyes. It takes patience and conscious awareness to see as Jesus.

In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5) If we think and act like Jesus then seeing as Jesus will enhance our thoughts and actions to be like Jesus. Jesus was patience and was aware of everything going on around him, and he responded to people that needed help. We can do the same if we walk with patience and are aware of people around us we may see someone that needs an encouraging word or in need of a prayer. This is seeing as Jesus, being aware of the people around us and responding as Jesus did.

This may sound difficult but it can slow us down and help keep us relaxed. It is basically slowing down and praying that the Lord will help you see someone that needs a kind word. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (Ephesians 4:29) Make it a habit of listening and encouraging others according to their needs.

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) If we are to live as Jesus did, then we train our eyes and ears to notice what Jesus noticed. Whenever we have an opportunity to talk to someone we can reflect Christ by listening and we try to move the conversation toward Christ.

I have found that trying to see through the eyes of God has given me patience throughout the day, and it is great relief not to rush through my day. It makes each day more relaxing and more meaningful, and when we seek people to minister, the Lord tends to put people in our path. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17) When the Lord opens our eyes to someone he wants us to minister, pray and start a friendly conversation with the person.

Today seek to see the world through the eyes of Jesus and your thoughts will correspond to the thoughts of Jesus.   The more we seek to see and hear the people around as Jesus did, the more Christ-like we become, and the more we do this the more we see as Jesus.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see the world as Jesus saw the world and respond as Jesus responded. Guide me to do this through the Spirit and to respond as Jesus would. In Jesus name, Amen
