See Life as a Test
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him
James 1:12
When we view life as a test with a positive attitude in Christ, we can endure knowing we are becoming more like Christ. I spent years in school and when a test was scheduled, I prepared with a goal of passing. If you have taken a test and passed, remember the joy and the satisfaction. We walk with Christ and we have his love and power to pass whatever test life puts in our path. There is great joy in passing each test plus we are thankful for the Lord helping us and blessing us when we pass.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:12-13 ESV) When we see life as a test we endure, we are sharing in Christ’s suffering. Great is our reward both in this life and in our eternal life.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us (Romans 8:18) Enduring tests through the power of Christ builds our faith and confidence. It brings us closer to the Lord with heart of thankfulness and love. There is great joy in experiencing victory over Satan, knowing we have the love and power of God in our life to endure anything Satan places in our life. In this life, the glory revealed in us will be as people see our endurance from Christ. Our greatest joy comes when we leave this temporary life and go home to be with the Father and the Son.
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10) The apostle Paul endured tests to become weak in his power and strong in Christ’s power and endurance. The Lord desires us to be strong with His power in us, and he will enable us to endure all tests in our life.
Today, endure everything as a test with an attitude of passing with Lord’s power. You will be pleasing to the Lord because you depend on Him. Always seek the Lord in every test and be confident of passing the test because the Lord’s love and power that lives in you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your perfect love and your willingness to carry me through life with your love, wisdom, courage, and power to endure this life as a test. When I am weak, I can be strong because I can always depend on you to guide me through life. In Jesus’ name, Amen
