The Security of God’s Love

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.

Ephesians 3:17

We can be secure in God’s love, just as a young child is secure in the love of their mother and father. A child experiences comfort from the care and love supplied by his parents, and we experience God’s care if we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. We are comforted knowing he will supply our needs.

God is our perfect Father who loves us perfectly and unconditionally. When we accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, we then receive the Holy Spirit and we are securely in God’s divine family. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). Our divine Father loves us perfectly and all things are possible for him. His desire is to carry us through life, molding us to conform to his Son, and to bring us home to live with him in Heaven forever. If this is God’s desire for us, do you think anything in all creation can stop God’s plan for our lives?

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”(John 10:28-30). Jesus firmly states that no one can “snatch them out of my hand,” because we are securely planted in the Lord’s right hand. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10). The only person who can snatch us out of God’s hands is ourselves, so remain faithful. But the one who endures to the end will be saved (Matthew 10:22).

Today, be secure in the Father’s perfect love, knowing he is always with you and his Spirit lives in you. Praise and thank the Lord throughout the day as he is near to you with his infinite love through the Spirit. Reflect his love to others because the more of his love we give to others the more love God puts in our hearts. The more love that is in our hearts, the less of Satan’s fear is in our hearts. But perfect love drives out fear, (1 John 17: 19).

Let’s Pray: Lord, fill my heart with your perfect love that I can reflect to others and live in the security of your love. I place my life in your hands because through your perfect love I will trust you completely. Lord help me to overcome Satan’s attacks of fear, tempting to destroy my security in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
