Satan’s Weapon – Fear

Posted on

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 46:10

Satan’s weapon is to fill our minds with fear, but the Lord tells us not to fear. Fear is to “give way to anxiety, allowing one’s mind to dwell on difficulty and troubles. Satan will use fear to pull us away from God, causing us to fear many of the evil things in the world today.

How do we handle fear of the future, about things that are happening to Christians all over the world. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9) We can see from the Old Testament that God was with his people and gave them victory, and he will do the same for us.  We face fear from this world by turning it over to the Lord and walk in peace and joy as he guides us through life to our eternal home in Heaven.

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6) The world is control by spirits, Satan and his demons, the Father and the Son, and we are spiritual people; because life is in our souls.  We do not live for our fleshly life, but we live for our eternal life; and the world cannot touch our spirit which is our thoughts, personality, and will. But Satan makes self our worst enemy.

Fear can have detrimental effect on the health of our mind, body, and spirit. Satan’s number one weapon is fear because it is the opposite of love, and God is love. When we become fearful, we know Satan is attacking, but we know God’s love is much more powerful than Satan’s fear. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18).

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).  God will give you peace because he doesn’t want those in his family to walk in fear. Be close to the Lord and we will walk in peace and joy, and we never yield to any of Satan’s evil tactics.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) We fear not what man can do us because it only effects our dying bodies. When we die our spirit person is alive, and when Christ returns, we get a younger body that lives forever, and never ages or has any pain. So live with peace and joy, and kill any fear from Satan, and know physical death is the door to Heaven.

Today give the Lord your fear and seek Godly courage and wisdom from Christ. Recognize it is Satan attacking when he fills your mind fear, and combat Satan with the power of God through the Spirit as he will destroys Satan’s power and guides us to victory.

Prayer:  Lord, take any fear from my mind today and let me walk with Godly courage and wisdom. Fill my mind and heart with your love, peace, and joy, and keep me eternally minded.  In Jesus name, Amen
