Satan’s Tactics Against God

Posted on

It was given power to wage war against God's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

Revelation 13:7

Satan’s goal is to hurt God. He does this by stealing souls away from Him. He will use his demons to excite souls in his lies to destroy God’s people, either by death, misdirection in their belief, or masquerading as an angel of light in the church. We know Satan’s ways are opposite of God’s ways; God created the family – Satan destroys the family, God is love – Satan is hate, and God is peace – Satan is war. Satan takes everything that God created for good and turns it to sin.

We can see Satan at work in this world today. All you have to do is just watch the evening news or read the daily paper. We can see the world attacking Christians through killing or imprisonment. Israel is considered God’s people. Israel consists of all those who walk with Christ as their Savior. We see Satan trying to turn the whole world against God’s people. We see Satan attacking the church by making the church more worldly. He accomplishes this through the twisting and changing of the Word of God in order to satisfy their itching ears. Satan attacks in every realm of life from individuals to the governments of countries.

Satan attacks individuals through our biggest enemy – ourselves. He awakens our sinful nature with small temptations that we can comfortably justify. He will tempt us with activities or busyness in an effort to keep us from Bible study, prayer, and church services. Do not give Satan a foothold. (Ephesians 4:27) If we give Satan a foothold, it is only the beginning of the power of our own justification. Then, we can become more of our own god.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44) This is the character of Satan and the majority of the world is living by his lies. His lies are appealing to our sinful nature. They offer immediate fleshly gratification that leads to death, both spiritually and sometimes physically.

We need to examine our lives closely. We must read God’s Word to determine if we are justifying any of Satan’s lies. Satan’s lies can sneak into our lives without our awareness. Pray that God will reveal any footholds that Satan may have in your life. Pray for freedom in Christ. We cannot be free in Christ with Satan having a foothold in our lives. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

Today, be aware of Satan’s attacks and fight for your soul through the power of God. Live in victory with the Spirit’s power over Satan and his demons. Learn to fight for your eternal soul and become a strong spiritual warrior living in God’s strength and power.

Let’s pray: Lord, help me to recognize Satan’s attacks, and not to give him a foothold in my life. Guide me in the power of the Spirit to be victorious in Christ. Help me to become a Spiritual warrior always prepared to call on the Spirit for battle against the evil forces in this world. Thank you for being with me to fight these spiritual battles. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
