Satan’s Agenda
In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
2 Corinthians 2:11
Before we discuss the agenda of Satan it is important to know that those who accept Christ as their Savior have power over Satan. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 6:33) Through Christ we have overcome the world as stated in 1 John 5:4, Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit through which gives us the power of Christ over Satan and his demons. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.(John 4:4)
Satan is the ruler of the world, but he is under the control of God and serves God’s purposes. We know this from Job 1 12, All right,” the Lord said to Satan, “everything he has is in your power, but you must not hurt Job himself,” and we know the demons always obeyed Jesus, My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
God uses Satan to sanctify Christians and using suffering so Christians will be drawn closer to the Lord, and lost souls will accept Christ. Note throughout history the Church grows most in times during suffering, and grows the least when life is comfortable and easy. It was this way with the Israelite nation, when life got comfortable they didn’t need God and walked away, and when life as slave got unbearable they called upon the Lord. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:24)
Satan’s agenda is to steal people from God and bring them into his dark kingdom for all eternity. He does this by spreading his lies to people and uses them to implement his evil plan against God’s people. He uses people to bring false teaching into Bible believing church, overtaking governments so they make laws against religion, especially against Christians, and he spreads violence against Christians hoping fear will pull them away from God. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. (1 Peter 5:8)
Today know your eternal soul is protected by God. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3) Walk in faith and overcome any fear from Satan. Know you are victorious in Christ and Heaven is your home. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) You are spiritual and you live forever.
Prayer: Lord, give me your strength to overcome whatever evil comes from Satan, with my heart filled with the desire to come home to be with you and the Father. Never let Satan’s fear take hold of me but to always live with victory in Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
