Satan Tempts us to be god

Posted on

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:13-14

Those living in darkness, those who don’t know God, are being their own god. This is what we are seeing in the world today, people being their own god living in their own truth. Those living in darkness are believing Satan’s lies, and they are living on the broad road of destruction.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) Those on broad road are living in darkness because they cannot see where they are going.  All souls living in darkness are their own god which is a life that seeks to satisfy the flesh.  We have many in this world living on the wide road being their own god, and the result is chaotic.

Those living as their own god think they are in control but they are really controlled by Satan who steals their freedom. Only the true God gives us control through the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit. God renews our mind and changes our heart to like that of Jesus. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) The world will make us slaves; only Christ can set us free. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

Only a few will find the narrow road to life where the light of Christ guides us down the road to our eternal life. Those on the narrow road have the Light to guide us, while those on the broad live in darkness and cannot see where they are going. It’s the calling of all Christians to bring the Light of Christ to those living in darkness.  The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. (John 1:9) Christ was the Light of the world.  After he was crucified, he arose on the third day, and forty days later he ascended into Heaven. The Father sends the Light, the Holy Spirit, to those who accept Christ. Everyone who accepts Christ as their Savior, are called to bring the Light to the world.  Christ lives in us and guides us through the Holy Spirit.

Today, tell people about the true God and that he is the only one that sets us free and brings us eternal life through Christ. We will all die, and face judgment based on God’s truth as given in his Word.

Prayer: Lord, guide me to bring your Light to those living in darkness. Help me to do this with a loving and caring heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen
