Revealed by the Spirit

Posted on

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”]—the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

The Spirit gives us life to the full, and it gives us a glimpse of our eternal life.  The Spirit gives us a deep understanding of the Word.  When we obey the Word, we have a divine understanding of the Word, the Father, and the Son.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Our soul can only be eternally satisfied through the Spirit and not from the world. The world satisfies the flesh and God satisfies the soul. Our soul is our thoughts, our personality, our emotions, and our will.  While our flesh is a tent we live in while on earth. Our spiritual soul is created to be with God and can only be satisfied by God.

The Spirit continuously feeds our soul from Heaven with love, peace, and joy. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; (Galatians 5:22-23) Everything we need to satisfy our souls comes from God through the Spirit.  The more our soul is content from Heaven, the more our flesh is satisfied because the things from God far exceed the things from the world.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; (Ecclesiastes 3:11) The Spirit guides us through life causing us to be closer to the Lord.  The more we know the deep things of God from the Word and the closer, loving relationship with Christ we develop, the more eternally minded we become. Our soul lives in the Kingdom within us and we experience the blessings from Heaven.  This verse from the apostle Paul is also in our hearts: For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:14) We understand the scriptures in terms of how they will change our life, and what they tell us about the heart of God.

Today, know the Holy Spirit is within you, and know the things the Spirit will reveal to you. Ask the Spirit for understanding and guidance, and develop an attitude of dependence on Christ.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the indwelling Holy Spirit, and give me divine understanding through the Spirit. Help me to always be guided by the Spirit and seek what the Spirit will reveal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
