Rest For Your Soul

Posted on

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord gives rest to our souls, and if we are not at rest in our soul we cannot be at rest in the physical body, because life in our spirit. We are created to be guided by the Holy Spirit and the flesh can be controlled by the Spirit. The spirit gives peace, joy, comfort, and patience, all of which we need to have rest for our soul.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) We are created to have rest for our soul, just as Jesus had rest for his soul. We are to conform to the image of Christ, and we cannot be like Jesus unless we have a heart of love, patience, and rest for our souls. Satan is the evil source that causes us to worry and rush through life, and if we are rushed it can make us angry, stressed, and miss opportunities to minister to people. In the Word did we ever see Jesus rushing or impatience?

If we live as God created us then we will have rest for our soul; our worry is greatly reduced and we have peace, joy, and patience that continually fill our soul; because they come from Heaven and not from the world. And everything from the world is temporary and everything from Heaven is forever.

The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14) We live depending on the Lord for everything, and we stay close to the Lord as if He was walking with us. The closer relationship we have with the Father and the Son, and the more we depend on Christ guiding through life, the more rest we will have. It is impossible to be close to the Lord and not have rest, and the closer we are to the Lord the more rest we will have.

Today depend on the Lord for everything and ask for His guidance in everything, and you live in with rest for your soul, because the rest comes from Christ.

Prayer: Father, help me to have rest for my soul, and live with peace, joy, and patience as I go through each day. And don’t let Satan tempt me to be rushed. In Jesus name, Amen.
