Remain Holy

Posted on

But as he who called you is Holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.

1 Peter 5:15

We are called to be Holy in all our conduct, which means we remain Holy. God is referred to as Holy, Holy, Holy, because he is always perfect. No one on the planet is perfectly Holy because Satan wants us to conform to the pattern of the world by desensitizing us to the sin in the world.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothe 3:1-4) As Satan’s lies fill the world, and it causes many people to fulfill some part of the scripture above.

Any time we put our fleshly desires above what the Holy Spirit calls us to do, are we lacking self-control? And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 10:38-39) We put Christ first in our life by following him through the Holy Spirit. If we share our priority between ourselves and Christ, where do think that leaves us in the Lord’s view?

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33) Satan tempts us to be controlled by our flesh for short periods of times so we stop being Holy.  Satan’s plan is to pull us away from God in small increments, without us being aware. Nothing should routinely take priority over worshipping God, attending worship service, attending or teaching a Bible class, reading the Bible every day, and praying throughout our day. We should never miss an opportunity to reflect Christ to others, to those in the church and to those outside the church.

Satan and his lies have filled many people with the wrong idea about serving Christ. We see people of the world living for there fleshly desires and for there on benefit, and Satan tempts our emotions so we will justify conforming to the pattern of the world. Everything we do in life should bring glory to the Lord, then we will remain Holy. Whatever we do we do for Christ and we reflect Jesus to everyone. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Today remain Holy and don’t let Satan get a foothold through your emotions. Live this day governed by the Spirit.

Prayer:  Lord guide me in the Spirit to remain Holy and to do everything that brings you glory.
