Pray Without Ceasing

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

What does this verse mean, pray without ceasing? How can we be in constant prayer and focus on our work?  I think what this verse implies we maintain our connection to Christ, to the point where it becomes natural.  We commune with the Lord asking for his guidance in our ministry and our work.

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. (Proverbs 16:9)  We are guided by the Spirit and we plan our course and the Lord will guide us step by step through the plan.  Whatever we are doing that is pleasing to his will, we can call on the Lord and he will guide us step by step letting his divine wisdom and power work through us to achieve the task.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)  The Lord will be with us and help us all through our days if we depend on him and if we ask with a thankful heart. Dependence is to know we need the Lord’s help, and faith means we are 100% sure he will help us according to his divine will. We have the creator of Heaven and earth willing to help us through our days with his love, power and wisdom.  Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20)  If we stay connected to the Lord and live to serve him, and when we ask, his power is revealed in us.

Today, stay connected to the Lord, serve him, and ask for his power and wisdom to be revealed in you. We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. (1 Corinthians 2:6)  We speak with Godly wisdom and with divine understanding. We have wisdom from God that enables to have spiritual understanding of both people and the world.

Today pray without ceasing by staying connected to the Lord, communing with him with praise, thankfulness, and guidance.  You will find Godly wisdom and power displayed as you serve him. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

Prayer:  Lord help me to pray without ceasing by staying connected to you today, depending on you for whatever I need to fulfill your will. Thank you for your love and care, and help me to fully submit to your good, pleasing, and perfect will.  In Jesus name, Amen
