Pray, Pray, Pray

Posted on

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

How can we overcome evil in this world without the power of our sovereign God? How can we serve the Lord as his ambassador if we don’t call on him in prayer? How can we show our faith in the Lord if we don’t depend on him? We are in an end-time spiritual war and we are called by our Lord to fight Satan by overcoming his lies with God’s Truth.

These are the words that Jesus spoke to the Pharisees whose hearts were far from God. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44) This verse applies to every soul that doesn’t know the Truth of God’s word.  We see governments, news networks, and individual people selling Satan’s lies to a world. In the last days, the world will be deceived and will follow Satan’s lies. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.(Revelation 12:9 NKJV)

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”  Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you”. (Matthew 24:3-4) Three times in Matthew 24, Jesus tells his apostles, at end times watch that no one deceives you.  All souls who don’t know the Lord and his Truth will, by default, be deceived and believe Satan’s lies. Christians can see this happening in governments and in the hearts of people.

This is a time to pray, pray, and pray more, because nothing happens unless we ask the Lord with a heart of love and faith. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2) If our hearts desire to fight Satan’s deception and his lies that are causing people to kill Christians and turn governments against Christians, then we must pray. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) Our warfare is not with people; it is with the powers in the spiritual forces of this dark world. We fight this spiritual war with prayer for the Lord’s sovereign power to control the dark forces and we pray for guidance in bringing the Truth to the lost souls.

There is no such thing as a self-centered Christian because God’s love in our hearts motivates us to pray and to have a strong desire to bring God’s Truth to the World. Remember, one soul is worth more than all the riches in the world.

Today, pray for the Lord’s help in fighting the evils in this world coming from Satan’s deception and lies.  Pray for him to reveal hearts that will receive God’s Truth. Pray in specifics and know God’s cares about all souls, including our enemies. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24)

Prayer: Lord, I pray for divine love to overcome the evil in this world and to open souls to hear your Truth. Guide me today to be a Light in this world and to deliver you truth with love, compassion, and caring heart.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
