Perilous Times
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 Timothy 3:1
As we get closer to end times, we will see perilous times as described in the book of Revelations. Satan’s goal is to spread his lies about God using his demons to deceive people. We combat Satan’s lies by knowing God’s truth from the Word, and telling that truth to the world. Satan’s desire is to keep people from seeking God and to pull people from God.
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3) Whatever we experience in the perilous times, the Lord will protect us from the evil one and He will not let us be tempted beyond we can bear. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) This is an important verse because we know the Lord will give us his strength and courage to overcome any temptation we encounter from Satan.
Satan is the ruler of the air and the people that believe his lies are persecuting Christ’s church. Although Christians are suffering all over the world, if we remain faithful to the Lord we are victorious. We are God’s family and God rules heaven and earth, so how can we not live in victory. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:7)
This world is only our temporary dwelling where we live to serve the Lord. After our last breath, we go home to our eternal heavenly home. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches. (Matthew 13:31-32) The mustard seed represents this life, and the mustard tree represents our Heavenly life. It represents every aspect of our Heavenly life: love, peace, joy, happiness, fulfillment, etc. all the characteristics of Christ. The more we live for our eternal life the more we can endure this short earthly life.
Today walk confidently in Christ with no fear from Satan, showing you have overcome the world and walk in victory. Know you are victorious in Christ and Heaven is your home. Bring the love, peace, and joy that you have received through the Spirit, and bring a positive victorious attitude to the world.
Prayer: Lord, guide me in the Spirit to express victory in Christ, showing love, peace, and joy. Help me overcome any temptation from Satan knowing through Christ I have power over Satan. In Jesus name, Amen
