Overcome
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4
The Lord gives us his power to overcome this sinful world. We live in the kingdom within us and we minister to lost souls, and we are in this this world but we are not part of this world. We are a spiritual person living close to the Lord, and we live in his divine power. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20)
Most of the world lives for their fleshly desires and they don’t know God, but we are controlled by the divine power of God. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelations 12:9) The world has been deceived by Satan lies and they are unaware they have been deceived.
We have the Holy Spirit living in us, and the Father and the Son make their home with us, giving us guidance, strength, wisdom, and power that comes to us through the Spirit. So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me? (Hebrews 13:6) Christians don’t live in fear because we know we are spiritual people living in earthly suit. The world can kill or flesh but they cannot kill us, because our life is the spiritual person. When our flesh dies, the spiritual person leaves the body and we are still alive.
If we live for our flesh we will die, but if we live for our eternal spirit, we have overcome the world. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) We are governed by Christ who guides us down to the narrow road to our eternal home. Do we live for this worldly life, or do we live for our eternal life in Heaven? Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) We live for our eternal home because we never know what will happen tomorrow in the sinful world.
We live to tell people about their eternal life and that salvation is only through Christ. We tell them they believe anything they desire, but God’s truth never changes and he is our judge. People who don’t know God’s truth from the Word, by default will live in Satan’s lies. We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (1 John 5:19)
Today reflect Christ to people, and realize you are spiritual person that has overcome the World, and Heaven is your home. Keep your eyes on the Light of God and the end of the narrow road.
Prayer: Lord guide me today to live for eternity and tell the world they are deceived by Satan’s lies. In Jesus name, Amen
