Overcome the World and be Free

Posted on

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

1 John 5:4, Galatians 5.1,

No matter where we live or what the condition is, we can overcome the world and be free in Christ. We can do this because our life in our soul, its our thoughts, personality, and will; and the world cannot touch our soul. When the flesh dies, we are alive as a spiritual person, waiting for our new eternal body to live in our Heavenly home.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) True Christians have overcome the fear of death because we know life is our spirit and Heaven is our eternal home. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. (1 Corinthians 15:53-54) The world cannot touch our soul unless we yield to fear, because we know where our eternal life will be.

We live life in this sinful world with freedom in Christ and we overcome this world. Our soul is free which is the Kingdom within us, while our temporary flesh lives in the world and must remain in the world. We must see ourselves as a spiritual person that lives forever, and it will give us courage to be a light on a hill for Christ. We follow Christ through the Holy Spirit and He is always with us till the end of the age. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Satan wants to put fear in us so we deny Christ, but Christ gives us the courage to die rather than to deny Christ, and to live in victory every day. We live closer to Christ than we do to the world and He gives us his power to turn people away from Satan’s lies toward God’s Truth.

Today live in victory because Christ is with you and Heaven is your home. Don’t let Satan have any control today!

Prayer; Lord guide me to live in victory and to be light for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
