Overcome Satan’s Temptations

Posted on

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good

Romans 12:21

We fight off Satan temptations with victory if we overcome evil by doing good. Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.” (Matthew 24:4) Satan knows the Word and he knows our weakness, and he attempts to use our emotions to trigger our own justification. This is where we really need the power of God, when our will combats Satan’s will.

And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 10:38-39) We lose or our life by giving our life to Christ, which means we replace our will with God’s will, and we depend on Christ for everything we do in life. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23)

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:4) We depend on Christ to guide us to bear fruit, because our life is focused on seeking to bear fruit. We can bear fruit by helping people, and we tell them about Christ by handing out Christian literature, or inviting then to church. The more we fill our minds with helping others, the our thoughts experience sinful temptations.

God will guide everyone to bear fruit based on the talents he has given us. Knowing the Word and with hearts filled with God’s love, we seek ways to serve the Lord, helping others to know Christ. We always pray that the Lord is with us to guide our thoughts and scriptures that the person(s) needs to hear. If we live in the image of God, we will have divine power to overcome evil by always seeking to do good.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8) Hearts of love connects to the Lord, to the Word, prayer, and fellowship. With hearts of love, we live to tell he world about Christ, through the power of Christ, the power of the Word and prayer. If we live to do good at all times evil disappears.

With hearts of love our life changes from self to God and others, Just as Jesus’ life was about serving the Father, helping others and giving them God’s Truth about salvation. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) We are predestined to conform to image of his Son, and God is molding us to have hearts of love and live to serve Christ.

Today if Satan’s temptations come, replace it by doing something good, pray, read he Word, or call a Christians friend. God promises that he will provide and escape form evil.

Prayer: Lord guide me to overcome Satan’s temptations by doing something good. In Jesus name, Amen
