Overcome Satan’s Fear

Posted on

Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Isaiah 35:4

Everyone has some level of fear, and some fear is good, such as driving, walking in dangerous places, finances, illness, and the list continues. But the fear we need to overcome is fear that comes from Satan. Fear for our salvation and fear of the future, these are Satan’s favorite subjects.

God says in many scriptures do not fear; easy to read but not easy to attain. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. (1 John 4:18) When God’s love fills our hearts, our life becomes centered on God and others; however, by the time we reach this point in our life, we are extremely close to the Lord with strong faith. The closer we are to the Lord the less fear we have, and we have the desire to be with the Lord in Heaven. Like the apostle Paul stated: I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. (Philippians 1:23-24) The more we minister to others the less fear we have.

The closer we are to Christ the more eternally minded we become. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) When we know Heaven is our home we can calm our fears, but if we don’t know Christ then we definitely have something to fear. But even if Heaven is our home, there is some fear associated with living to raise our family in Christ, and how we are going to die.  Many Christians today, throughout the world are being killed for there faith, but the Lord gives them the strength to endure and great is their reward.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) Remember we are never alone because the Father and the Son make their home with us, and the Spirit of God lives in us. We have the power of God in us to overcome the world, and physical death is our step into Heaven to live with the Father and he Son in a perfect world forever.

Today show the world that Satan’s fear has no power in your life. God is the power in your life and you have overcome the world.

Prayer: Lord calm any fear in my heart, and draw me closer to you for your strength and wisdom. In Jesus name, Amen
