Our Will versus God’s Will

Posted on

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

The spiritual war is our will versus God’s will. This is why we are predestined to conform to image of his Son. (Romans 8:29).  So our minds and hearts change to do the Lord’s will  meaning our will and the Lord’s become the same. How can we reflect Jesus to the world if our minds and hearts haven’t changed to be like Jesus’?

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. (Galatians 5:17)  If we live by our fleshly desires then we live by our will, but if we live by the Spirit we live by God’s will. Satan will deceive us and have us live by our will thinking we are living by God’s will. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21)

The more we know the Word and the more we minister to the world, the more we will live doing the Lord’s will. We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. (1 John 2:3) The Lord’s will for us is to be Light for Christ, reflecting his love and compassion to the world, bringing the Word to people so they know God’s love and salvation through Christ. When our hearts are motivated to be a Light in this world, then we are living God’s will as the priority in our life.

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin. (Job 13:23 NASB) We are biased in our hearts and the Lord is the only one who truly knows our hearts. Pray that the Lord will reveal any iniquities and sins because Satan can easily deceive us.  He knows our will is extremely strong.

Today, seek to be Christ-like doing the Lord’s will. Start you day praying that you will be guided through the Spirit doing the Lord’s will. Remain in me, as I also remain in you.No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:5) Remember, we must be guided by Christ to bear fruit.

Prayer: Guide me in the Spirit so I will bring your Truth to world. I pray that I reflect Christ in everything I think, speak, and do today. In Jesus’ name, Amen
