Our Treasure

Posted on

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:24

The most important treasure in our life is a close relationship with Christ. We have treasures on earth but they are temporary, but Christ as our treasure that lasts forever. Christ provides our soul with blessings from Heaven, which last forever and continually get stronger; things like love, peace, and joy. Things from the world cannot compare to our blessings from Heaven.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) Our treasure is Christ and when our thoughts are on things above, our spirit is in the kingdom. We interface to the world through the Holy Spirit, then we can remain in the kingdom. We cannot do this perfectly, but the more we pray and strive to control our thoughts, the more we live in the kingdom while our flesh lives in the world.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24) When we do everything as doing it for the Lord, it will help us to remain in kingdom with our treasure; Christ. If we develop the habit of doing everything as doing it for the Lord, it will help keep us away from sin. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

The greatest among you shall be your servant. (Matthew 23:11) If we have the mind of Christ, we will be secure and have the heart of a servant. When we live to serve it helps us to know our treasure is Christ, because we need him with us at all time, especially when bringing people to Christ. The most important thing we do in this life is to bring people to Christ, and we need Christ with us at all time.

Serving Christ and bringing people to Christ is our treasure. And serving Christ is our true treasure, and we will experience life to the full, because that is what we are created to do. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) This evil world is not our home, we live in the kingdom that is within us, and we travel down the narrow road to our eternal home in Heaven, where we will live forever with our treasure, the Father and the Son.

Today seek to live where your treasure is, Christ. Ask Christ to be with you today and do everything as doing in for the Lord.

Prayer: Help me to live for Christ and to do everything as doing it for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
