Our Perfect Father

Posted on

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

1 John 3:1

When we have the indwelling Holy Spirit, we are in God’s family only because Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for our sins because he was sinless, and our perfect Father sacrificed his perfect Son because of his love for us. The most important attribute of our Father is his perfect love.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:25). Our perfect Father not only loves us, but all things are possible for him, therefore he can guide us and protect our souls for eternity. It is comforting to know that all things are possible for God and it’s important to remember this when you pray.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him (Colossians 1:16). God is sovereign over all things both visible and invisible, which means physical and spiritual. God reveals his plan in the book of Revelation which covers the end times or “last days”, beginning when Christ ascended into Heaven and ending when he returns for final judgment.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3). Whatever bad things Satan places in our lives, the Lord will protect our souls for eternity and give us his strength and courage to endure all things.

Our perfect Father reveals his perfect love by protecting our souls as he guides our lives, through the Holy Spirit, to be a light in this dark world. He gives us life to the full, feeding our souls with his love, peace, and joy, even in the worst of times. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). While Satan is stealing, killing, and destroying this world, we are living life to the full, knowing that heaven is our eternal home.

Today realize that you have a perfect Father who has infinite love, and blesses those in his family with his divine power. Therefore trust him completely, trust his ways with your life, and receive his blessings.

Let’s Pray: Lord, thank you for being my perfect Father, and guide me to serve you with a thankful heart. Keep molding me to be Christ-like, always drawing me closer to you. The greatest thing in life is to be close to the Father and the Son, and perfection will come when we are in your presence in heaven. In Jesus name, Amen
