Our Greatest Possession

Posted on

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

John 6:63

What would the be like without the Word of God, the Bible? Know one would know about eternal life or how to live life to the full, and without the Word the world is lost. Just imagine what your life would be without the Word.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) People on the broad road believe Satan’s lies, therefore they never search for God’s truth? While people on the narrow road live by God’s truth. What is the purpose of the Word of God if we don’t read it or refuse to obey it?

The Word to Christians is the foundation of their life, because they need the Word to be a light for Christ.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) We need to know the Word when we tell the world about salvation through Christ, because the power of Christ is in the Word.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) The Lord uses the Word to guide us through life, with his love and power to bring to people to Christ. We are being molded to the mind of Christ and we cannot be molded if we don’t know Word and obey the Word.

The Word is our most important possession because it is our guide to Heaven. But how many people never or rarely read the Word?

Today read the Word and obey the Word, because it will bring life to the full. We all need the Word to become the person God created us to be.

Prayer: Lord open my heart to read and understand your Word, so I can minister to others. In Jesus name, Amen
