Our Earthly Life
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
This short earthly life is the only chance we have to live for eternal life with the Father and the Son in Heaven, If we don’t live for our eternal life, then we will live for our earthly life.
For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:23-24) There are many people on the broad to destruction because they are focused on earthly life and don’t take the time to find the narrow road to eternal life. The last thing Satan wants is for people on the broad road to look for the narrow road to Heaven.
Jesus taught in parables because the people didn’t understand things of the spirit, and it’s the same today, many people only understand the physical and have little or no knowledge of the spiritual. However, we are spiritual people; our soul is our personality, our thoughts, our will, and emotions. The body without the spirit is dead which means our life is in our spirit which lives forever. For as the body without the spirit is dead, (James 2:26) We are spiritual people which means God can make us closer to the spiritual world than we are to physical world.
We are to live this life serving Christ, and we do this by knowing the Word and being still inside. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) If we are still inside, we will know the thoughts the Lord puts in our minds and changes in our hearts. We live guided by Christ, living the way were created to live, and it is the best life we can live while on this planet.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) People don’t realize when this short life is over, we will be judged based on what we did in this life, and that will decide where we will live for eternity. Satan has deceived many people, making them think they are going to Heaven, for example; hope my good out-weighs my bad, I believe Christ is the Son of God (so does Satan), I am good person, and I go to church on Sunday. These are some of the lies that people believe because it easier to believe Satan’s lies than to seek the Truth from God’s Word. We have a whole lifetime to read the Word, but how people have actually read the complete Word?
Today know the purpose of this life, is to live so God will put your name in the Book of Life, and Heaven will be your eternal home.
Prayer: Lord guide me to live this life for my eternal life. In Jesus name, Amen
