One with the Lord

But whoever is joined to the Lord becomes one with him in the spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:17

Becoming one with the Lord is a lifelong process because our flesh is subject to Satan’s temptations which means we cannot be perfect. We have forgiveness meaning there is no limit on how close we can be to the Lord. The more we desire to be closer to the Lord, the more we overcome sin and the more we trust and serve him.

One with the Lord in spirit means we are connected by a heart of love and by being like-minded meaning we trust the Lord’s way over our way. Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) One with the Lord means we trust him with all our heart, and our will is to do his will. We live as the Lord’s servant and the Lord is our master, we always do what the master tells us to do, and he goes with us giving us his power.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) Trusting the Lord with all our hearts and living as his servant, we will experience his power working in us. When Christ lives in us, we truly are one in spirit with Him. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

By becoming one in spirit with the Lord, we become free in Christ. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) When we are one with the Lord, he guides us through life walking in His wisdom overcoming the world and setting us free. Being one with Lord, our hearts are filled with love, peace, joy, and rest for our soul. We can never reach this divine love, peace, and joy from the world.

Today, be one with the Lord by seeking his guidance and wisdom. Depend on the Lord for his divine power throughout the day.

Prayer: Lord, help me depend on your guidance at all times. Guide me to always commune with you, seeking your guidance with praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus name, Amen
