No Mountain Too Big

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Last night I was listening to a song by the late Marty Robbins titled “You Gave Me a Mountain.” When I heard this song it reminded me of hearing Marty Robbins sing at the Grand Ole Opry in the old Ryman auditorium many years ago. In the song Marty Robbins sings about “a mountain that I may never climb,” and I asked myself, could there be a mountain in my life that I may never climb?

The song was very nostalgic and got me to remembering many years in the past when there were mountains that through my own strength and wisdom, I did not successfully climb. But now with the Lord’s love, strength, and power, any mountain Satan places in my path becomes nothing more than a small hill. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) When we live free as the Lord’s servants with our souls destined for Heaven, we overcome every trial and hardship in this world. We live with the strength and power of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)

Listening to Marty Robbins’ song last night was very nostalgic. Remembering my former fifty nine years walking the way of the world, every hill and mountain was a fearful challenge and then came the mountain that I might never climb. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: (Isaiah 40:4) If God couldn’t carry me over this mountain, then it would be impossible. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) It was an impossible mountain for me, but for God it was nothing more than a bump in the road. Following the Holy Spirit, we have the power of God living in us, enabling us to run over any mountain Satan places in our paths. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

Today, know that there is no mountain that you cannot climb with the power of the Lord. Live today with confidence in the Lord’s divine power. Be humble and secure in Christ and walk in his divine wisdom.

Let’s Pray: Lord, thank you for living your power through me, enabling me to overcome the world and to live free in Christ. Your love casts out fear and increases my faith. Continually draw me closer to you that I may become more Christ-like. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
