Never Lose Hope

Posted on

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Romans 8:18

Living in this world we all experience problems and sometimes we may lose hope. This is particularly true for those fighting a sinful behavior over and over, especially if the sinful behavior is an addiction. We can really lose hope when we run to our addiction whenever difficulty arrives in our life. This can become a habit to the point that we can no longer cope with problems in life. This is a terrible situation because we can easily lose hope, and our pride may keep us from seeking help.

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded (2 Chronicles 15:7). Whatever our situation in life, the Lord never wants us to give up because he is always there to lift us up with his loving forgiving heart. With God’s love in our hearts means we live with hope even when worldly failures occurs, because we know our purpose in life is to minister to others, pointing them to Christ. This is the true reason we exist, and it motivates our life for God with a heart filled with hope in Christ. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9). We know we have eternal life with our Lord, and we know this life is temporary, therefore we minister to the world with the comforting promise of eternal life. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison. (Second Corinthians 4:17).

When we are in a state of hopelessness how do we get out? We need to seek help from our Christian brothers or sisters, pray, read the Word, or seek Christian counselors. We may neglect all of these due to feeling prideful or self-pity. God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. (James 4:6).  The truth of the situation is we can turn our hopelessness to hope with a single decision. Living in hope is a choice more than a feeling. Take a positive action of determination and seek help from a Christian brother or sister. Develop a thankful heart and live to serve the Lord.

Today walk with the Lord filled with hope in Christ. Remember the Lord is with you and will walk you through everything in life, and escort you to your eternal home. Know that you are secure in God’s perfect love as you fill your day being a light for the Lord. Let the Lord’s love, peace, and joy fill your day, and don’t let Satan do anything to steal it from you, because you have power over Satan and his demons because God lives in you, the Holy Spirit.

Let’s pray: Lord, fill my heart with your love and hope, knowing that if I trust you all things are possible. Increase your love in my heart and let it drive me to reflect your love to everyone today, and to reflect your peace and joy. Thank you for filling my heart with hope and joy. In Jesus name, Amen
