Never Lose Faith

Posted on

But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.”

Psalm 31:4

Some people walk away from God because they have lost faith. Tragedy may have happened in their life and they don’t understand why God allowed it to happen. To endure tragedy and hardship in life requires not only a strong faith, but to be closer to the Lord than anyone or anything in life. This may sound difficult but it is blessing; when we are one with the Lord, we actually have a better loving relationship with everyone else as well as divine power to endure.

When we are closer to the Lord than we are to the world, we have divine understanding, strength to endure, and faith that is continually increasing. If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:26). The word hate is used in comparison of our love for God to our love for others. When we love God more, we have more of God’s love in our hearts for our family and others. When Christ is the center of our lives and we live as his servants fully trusting his ways, he gives us peace, joy, and rest for our souls along with the ability to overcome the world.

Satan’s goal is to increase evil in the world and in our lives so that we will lose faith in God. If we read and study the book of Revelation we can see the world is going just as God described. Jesus said, They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God (John 16:2). Today there are people seeking to kill Christians who refuse to deny Christ and convert to another religion. But we are victorious in Christ, and when he returns he will take us home and do away with all evil, and at that time every knee will bow to Christ. It is written: “As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.” So never lose faith but pray for all those souls who believe Satan’s lies.

There is no better life than living with our hearts and minds centered on Christ. It’s walking in this world being one with God, serving him and experiencing a challenging, adventurous, and exciting life. Every day is different. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him (Psalm 34:8). There is nothing in all creation that compares to the greatness of being close to the Lord. We are created in the image of God and the greatest thing mankind can ever experience is being close to the Lord through the Spirit in this life, and being in his presence in our eternal life. We are empty and incomplete until Christ is the center of our lives.

Today let Christ be the center of your life; commune with him, and depend on him to get you through your day as you reflect Christ to the world. Know that you are closer to the Lord than to anyone or anything and feel the strength and endurance that he gives you as you trust him.

Let’s Pray: Lord never let me lose faith, but no matter what happens in life guide me to always trust you more. Thank you for always being faithful! Guide me in the Spirit to be a better servant today. In Jesus name, Amen
