MERRY CHRISTMAS

Posted on

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Matthew 1:21-23

God the Father sent his son to earth to save us from our sins. He lived a humble life as a servant.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Jesus lived a very humble life as a servant, revealing God’s heart of love, compassion, and forgiveness. For living this humble serving life and dying on the cross for our sins, God exalted him to the highest place.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

Just as Jesus was exalted, we will be exalted because we live a humble serving life. We will be exalted when Christ returns and takes us to our heavenly home. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)

Today: Just as we celebrate Jesus’ birth this time of year, celebrate your birth because you are born of God. Whether you are new Christian or a Christian for many years, celebrate your divine birth, born of God. You are filled with the person of the Holy Spirit, and heaven is your home, so this Christmas fill your heart with joy and thankfulness. The Lord is always with you pouring out his perfect love to you.

Prayer: Lord thank you for sending your Son to pay for all of my sins. Thank you for my divine birth, being born of God. Lord, fill my heart with your love, peace, and joy. In Jesus name, Amen
