Managing Our Time

Posted on

In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Proverbs 3:6

Our time is directed by our priorities, and our priority is given to us by the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Actually all of our time belongs to God because we are to be Christ-like at all times, even when we are alone. If we pray each day to fulfill the Lord’s will, we can walk patiently through our day.

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps (Proverbs 16:9). The goal here is to let the Lord establish our steps each day, and live each moment patiently and with purpose. When we live knowing our divine purpose in our heart each days priorities fall into place. We may have a busy day but there is a divine purpose to be Christ-like, and this tends to make us more efficient in our busy days. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). Even if our days are busy we tend to be still inside seeking the Spirit’s guidance in all situations, thereby making us more efficient and less rushed.

Managing our time giving God priority, knowing our divine purpose, and with patience, makes life meaningful and more relaxing. If we pray and ask the Lord to help us manage our time, we can become less busy and more productive. Over time as we become more peaceful and still inside giving the Lord priority, tends to slow down our busy worldly activities. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives (John 14:27). When we live with eternity in our minds and hearts, life begins to become more peaceful and has divine meaning.

Live as the Lord’s servant prioritizing your time putting the Lord first, and he will make your life more relaxing and peaceful. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Trust the Lord with this verse and he will take your anxious moments and replace it with peace.

Today plan your time through prayer and ask the Lord for peace and wisdom. Remember your divine purpose is to reflect Christ to everyone, because this can slow you down, making your day meaningful. When our days are meaningful to God he feeds us his love and peace and we receive rest for our souls.

Prayer: Lord, help me to manage my time for your glory and to fulfill my divine calling. Help me to realize all time belongs to you and should be used for your glory. Guide me by the Spirit and keep be from becoming anxious, but to walk in peace and joy today. In Jesus name, Amen
