Loving Relationship with God

Posted on

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31

“God wants us to love him with everything we have because that is exactly how he loves us.”1 How can we have an intimate relation with the Father and the Son without love? God’s love for us is more powerful than we can imagine and his love is sacrificial, that is why He sent his Son to die for our sins, so we can have an intimate relationship with Him. Our Love for God is the greatest command, and the love God puts in our hearts draws us closer to Him, and love consumes our life and our desire to be with the Lord.

God has done everything to show His love for us, and His desire to bless us and spend eternity with us. God created us in his image, Jesus died for our sins, fills us with the Holy Spirit, Christ guides us through life, and Heaven is our home. We live to serve the Lord, motivated by the love God has put in our hearts, and as love increases in our hearts it draws us closer to the Lord, and love motivates us to tell the world about Christ.

“As amazing as that truth is – God of the universe truly desires to be with us – it can be hard for some of us to accept.”2 Many people never have God’s love in their hearts, but love remains in their minds. We live out of our hearts and God listens to our hearts which is revealed by our thoughts. If you love me, keep my commands. (John 14:15) With God’s love in our hearts we also love everyone on the planet, and the more we love people and tell them about Christ, the more love God pours into our hearts. God’s plan is to guide us by the Spirit, and increase the love in our hearts.

Love draws us closer to the Lord and enables us to know the Father and Son, makes us humble and fully dependent on Christ to guide us through life. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) The divine power of God’s love in our hearts motivates us to tell the world about Christ, and it enables us to understand the heart of God and the heart of His Son.

“God is the very definition of love, therefore when he declares his love for us, we must realize that this perfect love for us is unending.”3 God’s unending love in our hearts changes us forever and connects us to the Father and the Son. Love drives us to bring Christ to lost souls, because our hearts hurt for those that are deceived by Satan, especially those that are close to us.

Today serve Christ and pray the Lord fills your heart with more of his divine love, because love drives us closer to the Lord with a dependent heart.

Prayer:  Lord guide me in the Spirit and continue to fill my heart with your divine love.  In Jesus name, Amen
