Love From God
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7
It’s a heart of love that enables us to truly be born of God and to know God, because God is love. All love comes from God and helps us to identify with God’s words and emotions and with Jesus’s words and emotions when we read the Word.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Jesus was motivated by love, to tell people about salvation, and to die on the cross for our sins. Everything from the Father and the Son was because of the love they have for us. No one in all creations can ever come near to the love that the Father and the Son have for us.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:28-31) Love for God and for people is the greatest command, because love motivates us to tell everyone, especially lost souls, about eternal life through Christ.
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. (1 John 2:3) We obey the Lord, and we can identify with Jesus’ ministry. With a heart of love, we can identify with Jesus words and emotions, when we minister to people.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) We need the Lord with us because He knows the thoughts of the people we are ministering, and he will give us the words and scriptures that they need to hear., which further helps us to identify with Jesus.
But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:5-6) When we are motivated by a heart of love to serve Christ, telling people about God’s truth; love is made complete is us, and we are changed forever. Nothing makes us more like Jesus than a heart filled with God’s unconditional agape love.
Today serve Christ by being a light, praying for the Father to open a door to tell people about Christ.
Prayer: Father as I live to serve Christ, fill my heart with your divine love. In Jesus name, Amen
