Love Conquers All

Posted on

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:30-31

God is Love, and when our hearts are filled with love; we live in victory.  Hearts filled with God’s divine love changes us to be Christ-like, we live close to Christ, and have overcome this sinful world.  Love is the power we have from God to conquer sin, and to be a light in this world.

It’s amazing how a heart filled with God’s love changes our attitude about everything, and we start to see the world and people through the eyes of Christ. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. (1 John 5:4) With hearts filled with God’s love, his commands are not burdensome; the commands are now natural and desirable.  As we minister to people with hearts that care, we become more Christ-like because God continues to put more love in our hearts.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) God is continually renewing our minds, through reading the Word, praying, and being in a church family; because our mind rewires based on our thoughts. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) As we obey the Word, telling others about salvation through Christ, love spreads from our mind to fill our hearts, and we live out of our heart. We are always moving closer to the mind and heart of Jesus.

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10) With hearts of love we see every person on the planet, knowing they were created by God, and we always minister to people by seeing others above self; because how can we minister to someone if we are looking down at them? We show respect and kindness to everyone, but we never compromise God’s truth.

Today reflect God’s love and caring heart to everyone with kindness and patience. Look for the image of God in every person.

Prayer:  Father, continue to fill my heart with your divine love, and guide me to reflect your love to others. In Jesus name, Amen
