Living Life to the Full?

Posted on

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10

The Lord promises life to the full for those who do the will of the Father. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) If we do the will of the Father, we will have life to the full

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6:63) The flesh counts for nothing in providing lasting life to the full.  Only God can bring us life to the full by constantly feeding our soul from the Spirit with his love, peace, joy, and security — life to the full.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)  We live by the Spirit which means Christ guides us through life. We remain in Christ because we seek to reflect the heart of Jesus at all times.  As our hearts get filled with God’s love, reflecting Jesus becomes our nature.  We are now living in the Spirit and we are reaping the blessings of God — life to the full.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4: 7-8) With our hearts filled with God’s love for everyone, including lost souls and our enemies, we can experience life to the full because we know God. God is love and the more love we have in our hearts, the more we know God and the more we live life to the full.

There are times in life when people suffer physically and psychologically, due to illnesses and tragedies, but God comforts us and we pray for healing. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) God comforts us and we comfort others.  God gives us the heart and the endurance to comfort and lift up others. We are eternally minded, and we realize the tragedies in this fallen world will end and Heaven is our home.

Today, live life to the full and reflect God’s love to others. Pray for the Lord’s guidance to bring God’s truth to the lost souls.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me to reflect your love to others and to tell them the forgiveness from Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
