Living in the Spirit

Posted on

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6

Christians minds are governed by the Spirit, which means our soul lives in the spirit. Most people are governed by the flesh and they worship things in the physical.  That is why people in the old testament worshipped idles, because they could see and touch an idle.  They couldn’t see God, but He walked with them in the tabernacle and later in the temple. We are connected to the Lord through the Spirit, which means we live in the spiritual world. Our soul is spiritual, along with our thoughts, will, and personality.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25) We live by the Spirit which means our soul and our thoughts continually worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth. We cannot see the Father and the Son in the physical, but we can have a close loving relationship with the Lord, closer than any physical relationship. The Holy Spirit lives in us, and Christ lives in our heart. Our spiritual soul is guided by our thoughts, into the physical world or into the spiritual world.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) If we are still inside and commune with the Lord with praise, thankfulness, and guidance; w will see His power in us if we learn to recognize His words and scriptures and the conviction and change in our hearts. We learn to listen to the Lord by hearing His words in our thoughts.

Many people will miss hearing from the Spirit because they are not still inside, and their thoughts are controlled directly from the world. Christians learn to live in the spiritual world by keeping their thoughts toward Christ. We interface to the world through the Spirit, whatever we receive from the flesh we take to the Spirit, and we respond through the Spirit. Sometimes we must take time to respond, as we ask the Lord for His guidance.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14) We pray that the Lord will guide our words and control our emotions. When we live in the Spirit, we are still inside listening to the Lord to guide our words in all situations. When we are still inside in helps greatly to control our emotions and respond with Godly wisdom.

Today live in Spirit by remaining connected to the Lord.  Pray that the Lord will guide your mind into the spiritual world, where there is peace, joy, and divine guidance.

Prayer:  Lord help me to keep my soul in the spiritual world, and to interface to the world through the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
