Living in the Kingdom

Posted on

Neither will they say, 'Look, here.' or, 'Look, there.' for the Kingdom of God is within you.

Luke 17:21

The Holy Spirit lives in us and can bring our souls into the Kingdom of God. Our souls are our thoughts, personalities, and beliefs, while our flesh is a suit we wear while living in the physical world. So will God enable our souls to live in the Kingdom while our flesh lives in the world?

If our souls were created to live in the Kingdom then our minds need to be spiritually oriented, meaning that we must understand people and the world from a spiritual view. The book of Revelation reveals how God intervenes in the world, the goals of Satan’s evil ways, and the hearts of people. The more we read and study Revelation the more we can understand the world’s situation and those who live in Satan’s lies. We begin to see everything from a spiritual viewpoint, and soon we begin to understand that everything is controlled by the spiritual realm.

After gaining insight from the spiritual perspective, our minds begin to think kingdom thoughts. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2). As we become spiritually minded, we desire to keep our thoughts on things above, because the things of God become more interesting than things of the world.

When you are spiritually minded with your thoughts on things above, you are living in the Kingdom and ministering from the Kingdom. A Christian’s spiritual war is with Satan, not with people, and Christians should pray for lost souls who are misguided by Satan’s lies. A spiritually minded person will have a forgiving heart and be able to recognize that evil people are guided by Satan and his lies. Life takes on a divine perspective when we are spiritually minded as we now see people and the world as God sees people and the world.

A spiritually minded Christian is eternally-minded and close to God. He or she communes with God throughout the day and seeks to serve him by helping people to overcome Satan’s lies. It’s amazing the amount of love, peace and joy we experience when we truly live in the Spirit and understand the spiritual war going on in the world. If you understand that God is in total control then you have nothing to fear. This is the divine knowledge that Christians reflect to people by telling them God’s truth.

Living in the Kingdom makes it easier to filter our interface to the world through the Spirit. Whatever we say is first checked through the Spirit and everything we hear or see is received from the Spirit. Living with a spiritual understanding of people and the world changes us: It brings us closer to the Lord, motivates us to pray for lost souls, takes away fear, and fills our hearts with God’s love.

Today seek to understand everything from the spiritual point of view and let everything you say, see, and hear go through the Spirit. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10). Be still in the Kingdom today no matter what is happening around you.

Let’s Pray: Lord, help me to live today in your Kingdom, and to understand the world from your eyes, the spiritual perspective, because the world cannot be understood from a worldly perspective. Thank you Lord for giving us divine understanding and the knowledge that you are in complete control of the world. In Jesus name, Amen
