Living Each Day to the Full

Posted on

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11

Living each day to the full is what the Lord desires for us, but how can we do this with our tight schedules and with difficulties facing us? Some days things just don’t go right and everything seems difficult while other days everything seems to go smooth. How do we live these two types of days to the full?

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) If we can adapt this attitude of working for the Lord, it can help us through the difficult times and actually bring us closer to the Lord. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) If we attack every situation knowing the Lord is with us, we can expect to increase our confidence in him, and view a challenge as an opportunity to spiritually grow.

When we live each day serving the Lord, it makes everyday different and exciting. If our life is centered on God and others and not on self, it becomes easier to live each day to the fullest. Serving the Lord means we are driven and motivated by the Spirit, and it’s amazing how the Spirit can give us the needed energy and strength to minister to others and give us a fulfilling attitude. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

What a blessing to live each day to the full, controlled by the Spirit and not by the flesh. Through the flesh our days can be good or bad, but from the Spirit everyday can be good as we store up our treasures in heaven. We may struggle in the flesh but we can be victorious in the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.(Galatians 5:22-23) In the Spirit we find love, peace, and joy, even while in world around is chaos.

Today seek to live life to the full in Christ. Walk in the Spirit communing with the Lord being a light for Christ in this world. Reap the love, peace, and joy from the Spirit independent of the flesh.

Prayer: Lord help me to live this day to the fullest serving you. Keep me in the Spirit filled with your love, peace, and joy that I can reflect to others. Help others see the power of the Spirit over the flesh. In Jesus name, Amen
