Live with Hope

Posted on

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 15:13

The future of this world is worrisome for many people, but, for Christians, we know the prophecies of God, and our hope is in Christ. In 2019, there were 1.38 million attempted suicides in America because people had lost hope. (Suicide Statistics AFSP) If we put our hope in the world, our hope will never be realized. If we put our hope in Christ, our hope is assured because Heaven is our home.

Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. (Matthew 24:12-13 NASB) As the events in the world such as wars, earthquakes, famine, disease, and violence are increasing and all happening as the same time, it can cause people to lose hope.  We endure because our hope is in Christ

As the world becomes more lawless, we become more like Jesus and reflect God’s love and hope to the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) I think most Christians view this verse as overcoming our sinful, worldly nature. But when things are happening in the world that directly affect the security of our lives, that’s when we need our faith in Christ to overcome the world.

Many people in the world are living in worry about the future, and many are unaware of what’s happening in the world today because they don’t know the prophesies in the Bible.  God gave us prophecies in the Bible, in Revelation, Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians, just to name a few.  So we can be prepared and not be deceived.  Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. (Matthew 24:4) Jesus told his apostles that during end times there will be great deception. The leader of a one world order will deceive many people, but Christians will know he is the antichrist referred to as the beast in Revelation.

We live in hope because we know the future and our souls are protected by God.  We live forever and only our flesh dies. Our soul immediately leaves this earth and goes to be with Christ. And when Christ returns, we get a new, younger, eternal body.

Today, live with hope because God is sovereign over all creations. Do not fear what’s happening in the world but endure by serving Christ and bring the truth of salvation to the world.

Prayer: Lord, take away the fear from Satan and let me have the faith to live in hope to my last breath. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
