Live with God’s Power and Truth

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10

The Apostle Paul says when I am weak, meaning he is depending on Christ’s power and wisdom through the Holy Spirit. The more we depend on self, the less power we have from Christ. For so the Lord commanded us, saying “I have made a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvations to the ends of the world.” (Acts 13:47)  We have the Lord’s power in us to be a light in this world.

All Christians are tempted by Satan to worship the Lord with a self-centered attitude. What good is our faith without love that motivates us to bring the good news of Christ to the world around us? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17 NKJV) Faith without a heart of love is normally dead. We minister to souls personally and the Lord fills our hearts with his love. We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

We are created to serve the Lord. And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul. (Deuteronomy 11:13 KJV) We serve the Lord with his power and his Truth. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)  We have the faith and motivation to step out in the world and serve the Lord as directed by the Holy Spirit. This is the calling of every Christian to follow the Spirit to be Light in this world. Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matthew 7:21 NKJV) All Christians are called to be servants of Christ and he guides us through the Spirit to do the Father’s will.

Today, pray for guidance as you are a Light for Christ.  Remember you are never alone, but Christ is with you with his power, words, and courage.  We show our love and our faith to the Lord by ministering to people with a heart motivated by love, just as Jesus was motivated by love for the Father and his love for people.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this:  Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31)

Prayer:  Lord, give me the faith and heart of love to be motivated to bring Christ to the world.  Help me to live in your power and wisdom.  In Jesus name, Amen
