Live for Eternal Life

Posted on

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

James 4:14

We live to be successful in this earthly life, but we do everything for our eternal life by following the Word of God.  Whatever we do in this world we do as a Light for Christ. Serving Christ is a fulltime task that is fulfilling and makes everything in life more meaningful. We are created in the image of God and when we live in the image of God, then our life has divine meaning because serving Christ is the center of our life.

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17).  Life in this world passes away, then we face judgment for our eternal life, and how we are judged is given in the Word. If we don’t know the Word, we will by default believe Satan’s lies. We have our whole life to read and study the Word, but many people rarely read the Word, much less study or meditate.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:1) We do the will of the Father ,which is will of Christ, then Heaven is our home.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3) Christians wait patiently for eternal lie because they know the father and the Son, not just in their mind but in their heart. God’s love fills our hearts when we serve Christ, and God looks at our hearts which is our thoughts because he wants to be motivated by love.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) When our hearts are filled with God’s love, we know God because He is love; we understand his emotions, his love, his anger, his power, and his wisdom. When we know God, He gets bigger and we get smaller, and we realize we are nothing without Christ and the Holy Spirit.

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) We are guided by the Spirit and not by the flesh, if we have the Spirit, otherwise we don’t belong to Christ. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13) From this verse we can understand that Christ is with us only through the Spirit.

Today realize everything you think and do has eternal consequences, and tomorrow is not promised.

Prayer: Father, help me to live this life serving Christ, and to be light on the narrow road to Heaven. In Jesus name, Amen
