Live for Christ

Posted on

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Colossians 3:4

The more we live for Christ, the more we will have life to the full. People who don’t make Christ their life, haven’t experienced the divine blessings from giving their life to Christ. Giving our life to Christ we are free and we are living in the image of God, which is the way we are created.  We know God with his infinite love, power and wisdom; guiding us through life into our eternal home.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) Putting Christ first in all things, we have the promise that he will make sure we have our worldly needs.  But this verse takes faith that the Lord keeps his promises, however we must first seek his kingdom by following the Spirit; being a light for Christ, pointing people to Christ.

For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. (Romans 14:8) People think that if they live for the Lord, they have lost their freedom. We have lost our sinful life, we overcome the world, and Christ sets us free. Satan has people thinking that if they follow Christ, they have lost control, but the truth is they gain control through the power of God. Satan has molded people to be their own gods, and it takes time and patience to become the person God created us to be.

The big problem today is that Satan has people living for their fleshly desires, and making them spiritual dead. Our soul is our life: it’s our will, personality, and thoughts; and our physical life is dead without the spirit. The body without the spirit is dead. (James 2:26) Most people in this world live for their fleshly desires, but Christians live to satisfy their spirit from God. If the spirit is not satisfied by God, we will never be fully satisfied, because the world can never bring lasting contentment to the spiritual person. God brings eternal contentment, while the things of the world bring temporary contentment, and worldly contentment in no way compares with the divine contentment from God.

If Christ is our life, we will live the best life possible on this earth, we know Heaven is our home, and we don’t live is fear because we have overcome the world. The blessings that come from God continuously feed our soul, and they never go away but become stronger the more Christ is our life.

Today live for Christ by reflecting Jesus to everyone and in every situation, and be in control through the power of the Lord. And don’t let Satan take control by triggering your anger or impatience.

Prayer: Lord guide me to live for Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit being a light for Christ in this sinful world. In Jesus name, Amen
