Live by God’s Word

Posted on

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:31-32

The Word of God is the foundation of the Christian life. We live by the Word, we minister using the Word, we are comforted by the Word, we learn about the heart of God, and the life of Jesus. We obey the Word and we are changed to be more like Christ. But Satan has many people deviating from the Word because of his deception.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) It is important to know the Word, by reading it everyday and meditate on what we read, because the Word is the voice of God. The Word is alive, because Christ places thoughts in our minds when we read the Word.

Satan and his demons are deceiving people all over the world, and he is deceiving some churches to drift away from the Word. Satan knows how to trigger our own justification, therefore we need to be thoroughly grounded in the Word each day, because Satan never stops deceiving people.

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. (Proverbs 30:5) From the Word we know God is faithful and we are secure, and we take refuge in Him. The Word is our guide to serving Christ, and the Word is powerful in that it changes our hearts, because he fills it with his agape love.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) The more we know the Word the more the Lord places thoughts in our minds, and He changes the desires or our hearts. We don’t listen just for information, but we listen to scripture so will we continue to change. We are not perfect, but there is always room for change, and we listen intently to scripture to be convicted so we can spiritually grow.

Today live by the Word, take a Bible wherever you go, and mark key scriptures that you most often use. Remember the power is in God’s Word.

Prayer: Lord guide me to understand your word more every day and guide me to read your Word all throughout the day. And let your Word always be with me. In Jesus name, Amen
